Having initially worked as a sound engineer at London’s Metropolis Studios alongside some of today’s most accomplished musicians and producers, I have a deep understanding of the creative process and technical complexity behind every performance, project and release. Following this experience, I went on to diversify my skills and knowledge of the music and music tech industry ecosystem, by building extensive expertise in international label partnerships, digital supply chain, live event production and content curation, in partnership and collaboration with artists, labels, distributors, DSPs, engineers and studios as part of global brand projects and activations. Client highlights from my time at Metropolis Studios include Rihanna, The Rolling Stones, Wiz Khalifa, George Clinton, Mark Ronson, Little Mix, Vangelis and Mary J Blige, to name a few.
As part of my previous role as Content Services Manager at audio technology company MQA, I was partnership lead for a range of international artists, labels and distributors, responsible for managing and coordinating multiple projects and releases. My role as part of these releases included managing timelines, logistics and relationships with artists, labels, distributors and mastering studios, through to DSPs and/or manufacturers, to ensure digital and physical MQA product elements were created and delivered successfully. Working on the end-to-end project lifecycle of recorded music - from ideation, creation and capture through to release and beyond into playback environments and experiences - gives me unique insight into the different approaches, production styles and consumption habits, and how they can in turn inform the artistic process itself.
The multiple projects I managed in partnership with Jazz re:freshed are particular highlights. These large-scale global projects generated bespoke releases, activations and events, such as the international streaming event JAZZ RE:FEST 2020 and the SXSW showcase livestream The BME Sessions, for which I managed music production from ideation, live audio recording, budget management and reallocation from cancelled 2020 in-person events. I also oversaw product development with labels and distributors, as well as the final delivery of the multi-product release plan (live event premiere, exclusive streaming releases and video with high-quality audio) and securing features with select DSPs. In short, music has played a major role in driving decisions throughout my life and career. Combining my experiences in the studio with artists and producers of all levels, with my work across the vast music industry ecosystem, I believe I am uniquely positioned to utilise my extensive multidisciplinary experience and musical background across a variety of projects.
